A brachioplasty, or arm lift, is recommended when one has excessive skin, fat, or both on their upper arm. This is commonly called “Bat Wings.” It usually occurs with excessive weight gain or weight loss with poor skin contraction. Unfortunately, diet and exercise alone often can’t address this problem, but Dr. Wiesman can. With a single procedure, he can give you a sleeker arm while also improving your daily comfort. Afterward, you’ll actually look forward to warmer weather and shorter sleeves!
The procedure consists of re-sculpting the upper arm by removing the hanging skin and excess fat. The scar can be hidden in the armpit or on the upper medial arm into the armpit and upper chest wall. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure in the comfort of our in-office surgical suite and usually takes from two to three hours.
